For my first project in my digital fabrication class, I sought to develop a modular children’s building set. I wanted the blocks to be flexible so that children could interlock them in different ways and thus create different structures out of them. I’ve documented my process from the initial sketches and digital models to the actual blocks in configurations. 

I had a steep learning curve in working with the laser and vinyl cutter in order to construct my blocks. Through trial and error—in digital and analog—forms I was able to hone in on how to work with the machines in order to produce the outcome that I wanted.
